Senator Chuck Schumer attended a protest at Battery Park, where he addressed protestors regarding the controversial travel ban.
Schumer demanded Sunday that President Trump “overturn” his “awful” immigration executive orders to temporarily ban travelers from seven majority Muslim countries and halt the American intake of refugees.
WATCH as Sen. Schumer the rally:
President Trump has made waves with his refugee immigration ban from countries with terrorist ties. Many have referred to the order as a “Muslim ban”; however, only one out of the top 10 Muslim-dominant nations is included in the temporary ban. Only Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Libya, Iraq, and Somalia.
However, the reason behind the temporary ban is to protect the citizens of the United States from the spread of radical Islamic terrorism in the Middle Eastern region.
