After the recent terror attacks in New Jersey, New York and Minnesota, we need answers to how the attackers were able to travel in the United States undetected until after the attacks were executed.  Not only did those three attacks happen within a 24 hour period but it was reported by Associated Press that 5 devices were found near a train station in Elizabeth, New Jersey early Monday morning, with one of them exploding as a bomb squad robot tried to disarm it. Fox News also reported that “the devices were found about a mile from the apartment of “belonging to Ahmad Khan Rahami, a naturalized citizen from Afghanistan linked to the New York and New Jersey bomb blasts.”

Because of the recent attacks Ted Cruz released a statement on his faceboook page calling for the end of the current adminiatrations refugee program stating that, “Congress should act to prevent Americans who have travelled abroad for training from returning here, and to stop the flow of refugees from hotbeds of terrorism in the Middle East that President Obama is determined to bring to our country.”

In the statement Cruz also said that, “We must avoid the trap of misconceiving these attacks as isolated incidents somehow disconnected from the larger ideological struggle against jihad.”

Cruz made a similar statement last year after the Paris attacks saying, “We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States. We need to redouble our efforts to prevent ISIS agents from penetrating our nation by other means.”

Last year, Cruz introduced the State Refugee Security Act which is a bill “to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to permit the Governor of a State to reject the resettlement of a refugee in that State unless there is adequate assurance that the alien does not present a security risk and for other purposes.”

Breitbart reported that “Cruz’s new proposal is the third in a series of anti-terrorist bills proposed recently by the junior Senator from Texas. In November he introduced the Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act, which would “immediately bar refugees to the United States from any country, such as Iraq or Syria, that contains territory substantially controlled by a foreign terrorist organization.”

What do you think about Cruz’s statements? Do you think that Congress should consider passing these laws or should the Unted States continue to let refugees enter the country?
