Actress Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, suffered a heart attack during a flight on Friday.
The 60 year-old actress went into cardiac arrest just minutes before landing in Los Angeles. She was returning from London where she was promoting her new book, The Princess Diarist.
Fisher’s brother Todd last said that she was in intensive care.
“If everyone could just pray for her that would be good,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”
Fisher went into cardiac arrest just 15 minutes before her plane landed in LA. A medic travelling on the plane performed CPR.
Paramedics spent another 15 performing CPR on Fisher until she got a pulse back. She was then taken to UCLA medical centre where she was put on a ventilator.
The actress was last reported to be in stable condition.
