Newly reelected House Speaker Paul Ryan spent most of the day Tuesday swearing in members of the 115th congress. This included hours of photo ops with House members and their families.
During a photo-op with the new Kansas Representative Roger Marshall, one of his children decided to dab for the photo. The boy stood between his father and Speaker Ryan, which put him right in the center of the photo.
Dabbing is an upper body movement made popular by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
“Do you want to put your hand down?” Ryan asked the boy, looking confused. “You gonna sneeze? That it?”
Speaker Ryan later acknowledged the incident on Twitter.
Just finished swearing-in photos. Nearly 300 members. Countless cute kids. Still don't get what dabbing is, though. pic.twitter.com/E2hFgyPYZT
