Looks like Rollins College is learning its lesson about free speech.

In case you missed it, Rollins College decided to punish a Christian conservative student after he decided to speak up against his Muslim professor’s positive statements regarding Sharia Law.

According to the Central Florida Post:

Marshall Polston confirmed to the Central Florida Post that Professor Areeje Zufari, who teaches a “Muslim Humanities” course at Rollins, has made outlandish claims against him and even filed a false police report.

Early on in the class, Polston said he realized the professor was harboring Anti-Christian beliefs, demonstrated by the professor’s assertion that the crucifixion of Jesus was a hoax and that his disciples did not believe he was God….Polston says that he challenged her on this point during a class discussion and after that, Professor Zufari promptly failed him on a major essay and refused to provide input as to why she issued a 52% grade for the essay.

Things got much more extreme, though, when Zufari accused Polston of approaching the professor outside of class following his suspension and after he was told to stay away from the professor. Following these outlandish allegations, Polston produced a restaurant receipt and surveillance photo disproving the allegation.

In the official investigation into the matter by Rollins, Polston was found “not responsible” for any of Zufari’s charges.

Maeghan Rempala, Rollins’s director of community standards and responsibility, said in an official statement:

“Community Standards and Responsibility has found that you have not crossed the threshold of violating our Code of Community Standards. However, your behavior has not always been consistent with the values we abide by at the College. The evidence presented did show you have been aggressive, disrespectful, and at times, vulgar in multiple verbal and electronic communications with faculty, staff and students.”

Rempala quoted several passages from the Rollins Honor Code then told Polston to “please use this occasion to reflect on how best to express your opinions and treat others in a respectful manner.”

Following an investigation by the Rollins, however, Poltson was reinstated as a student, as reported by Central Florida Post.

Polston’s lawyer Kenneth Lewis released the following statement:

“This decision does not undo the damage sustained to Mr. Polston by these unfounded allegations. He has lived in exile for the past week and will be judged unfairly [because of] Zufari’s malicious assassination of Mr. Polston’s character.

What is particularly disturbing is that Zufari would attempt to destroy the academic career of Mr. Polston for merely questioning her academic validity. We are calling on Rollins College to make a full inquiry as to Zufari’s fitness to continue on at Rollins in any capacity.”

The liberal bias has become so extreme that, even in an environment where it is encouraged to critically think, students are being punished for questioning what their professors have to say — or are indoctrinating students with.
