Famed actor Jamie Foxx recently went on a trip to visit the severely unpopular president of Venezuela. During the visit, he posed to take pictures with President Maduro, whose country is facing an extreme economic crisis.
While Foxx has not commented publicly on why he visited the deeply troubled country, state media reported that Foxx was there to support the “country’s socialist revolution.” They also reported he attended a signing of an agreement between Venezuela and its allies for the construction of houses for the poor.
People on social media are very unhappy with the actor’s visit. His recent post on Twitter is filled with people wondering why he appeared to support a president who has resided over the country’s economic downfall. The downfall has lead to massive food riots, a breakdown of the school system, and people abandoning their pets because they can’t afford to feed them.

Foxx’s visit to the country adds to a long list of actors who have visited the socialist country. Several other celebrities have visited Venezuela to support the country’s socialist revolution over the years, including actors Sean Penn and Danny Glover, according to Yahoo News.
