This week, a new group of students announced their run for the Texas State College Republicans Leadership. They call themselves Ignite TXFCR and they could not be a stronger group of men and women.

This group consists of:

  • Jonah Wendt – who is running for State Chairman.
  • Marivious Allen – who is running for State Vice Chairman.
  • Shalom Soman – who is running for State Secretary.
  • Alicia Starko – who is running for State Treasurer.

Between this group of extremely qualified individuals, they have a background in political science, business, and international studies and finally journalism.

Jonah Wendt served as the Director of Social Media for Win Ben Win, a super-PAC supporting Dr. Ben Carson during his run for president. Alongside that he is also the Co-Founder and Vice President of Tigers for Liberty.

Marivious Allen was a key aspect of organizing the grassroots movement for Dr. Ben Carson and his run for president in 2016. He also served as the Southwest US Regional Director in the Students for Trump organization which played a key role in engaging millennials and their support for Trump. Marivious now serves as the Political Analyst Director at The Millennial Post.

Shalom Soman served on the Texas State Board of Directors as the Outreach Director of Students for Trump. He went on to work with the Republican Leadership Initiative as a volunteer field organizer for Texans for Greg Abbott. He is now the Editor-In-Chief of The Millennial Post. Shalom is the Administrative Director of the College Republicans at Texas, and he is currently running for the position of State Secretary.

Shalom can be quoted as saying:

“The Texas Federation of College Republicans needs young, hard working, experienced candidates to carry on with the next mantle of leadership within the party. There are not many people who best represent Texas’ changing demographics and are ambitious about strengthening the Republican Party.”

Alicia Starko is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Millennial Post which is “Building a bridge from an untrusted industry to a misinformed generation.” She was the Texas State Director of Students for Trump. She has been interviewed by Fox News, CBS, Buzzfeed, The Daily Caller, Houston Chronicle and others because she has valuable input that they seek. Miss Starko interviewed people such as Dr. Kelli Ward who is running for senate in 2018. She has a strong desire to report the truth.

Alicia can be quoted as saying:

“With the right leadership, I look to the future of this organization with great optimism. I know Ignite Texas is the right team at the right time, and I encourage you to vote down ticket come April 8th. God bless you, and God bless the state of Texas.”

For me personally, having worked alongside Marivious Allen and Alicia Starko I can say that they are some of the most respectable people you will ever meet. Marivious brings a unique perspective to the team. He is a strong leader and is willing to help anyone that comes up to him.

Furthermore, he is willing to hear what you have to say in order to help you. Alicia Starko is a strong and confident woman. She worked to found an organization that helps millennials by telling them the truth and has a willingness to help anyone that comes her way with a strong yet caring attitude.

Their platform includes a constitutional convention within 120 days of the election to assure accountability of elected officials. This shows their desire to make sure they hold themselves to the highest standards.

They want to make sure they are completely open with the local chapters so that the communication flows transparently. They want to work with those at the campus level to get them the speakers and resources they need for activism and recruitment.

In closing, this is a strong group of individuals who are putting themselves out there because they have a desire to help others. They are more than qualified and have been leaders in a handful of organizations. They have the knowledge, education, and strength to run such an organization.
