This past week of College Football had a number of different games with very notable outcomes. Most importantly, last week’s numbers 7 and 12 fell. As a result, Stanford and Florida State likely do not have a real pathway to compete in a BCS bowl game this year, much less to compete in this year’s playoff’s.

With the season being about a third of the way through, here are our rankings for this week:

  1. Alabama
  2. Ohio State
  3. Clemson
  4. Michigan
  5. Washington
  6. Houston
  7. Louisville
  8. Tennessee
  9. Texas A&M
  10. Miami
  11. Wisconsin
  12. Nebraska
  13. Baylor
  14. Ole Miss
  15. Stanford
  16. Arkansas
  17. Florida
  18. North Carolina
  19. Boise State
  20. Florida State
  21. Oklahoma
  22. Colorado
  23. West Virginia
  24. Utah
  25. LSU

Others receiving votes: Virginia Tech, North Dakota State, LSU, San Diego State

Once again, the Big Ten holds two of the top four of the rankings, meaning if the season ended today they would be set to have a team competing in each of the semifinal games. When looking at the top, it seems improbable that both Michigan and Ohio State will finish the season in the top 4, as they face off the last week of the season in Columbus on November 26.

As always, every week seems to exhibit its own surprises. This week has some very interesting games between ranked teams. Some of the most notable games are:

Tennessee (8) @ Texas A&M (9)

Virginia Tech @ North Carolina (18)

Alabama (1) @ Arkansas (16)

Florida State (20) @ Miami (10)

Houston (6) @ Navy

LSU (25) @ Florida

Texas @ Oklahoma (20)

  1. I refuse to watch any more ignoramuses making millions of dollars act like spoiled brats…until they remember they are playing a sport that so many underprivileged would love to play…and practice SPORTSMANSHIP! They are hurting their teams and the game of football in their selfishness to make a meaningless gesture…it’s been weeks and has done NOTHING for the cause of making black lives matter more. Just pissed off a lot of football fans to give up on the sport and on the NFL!
