Every week seems to have its own surprises in college football. Part of what is awesome about the sport is its unpredictability.

This week, the conference leading in terms of number of schools in the top ten is the Big Ten, with Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Across the top 25 as a whole, the SEC has 7 schools representing their conference and the Big Ten has a total of 5.

If the College Football Playoff were to be held today, Alabama would be taking on Michigan, while Ohio State would go up against Louisville. It will be certainly be interesting to see what happens with the Houston Cougars going forward. Despite having already faced arguably their strongest competition in Oklahoma and Cincinnati, if they win out they may very well still be on the outside looking in of the Playoffs.

Only time will tell how it plays out…

  1. Alabama (7)
  2. Ohio State (3)
  3. Louisville (1)
