An administrative assistant at Columbia University’s Program in Narrative Medicine sent out a pro-Hillary Clinton electoral college petition to past and present students in the Narrative Medicine program on behalf of Rita Charon, the director and founder of the program.

“Dear All,

Rita has asked us to be sure you are all aware of the petition to the Electoral College to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton instead of Trump, which, in fact, the Electoral College has the power to do” the e-mail says, before linking students to the petition.

The petition asks the Electoral College to ignore the results of the recent Presidential election in favor of picking Hillary Clinton to be President, instead of Donald Trump. It has over 4 and a half million signatures.

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

According to a former student who shared the photo with Hypeline, the e-mail list is not supposed to be used for political purposes. She said the e-mail list is only used for news relevant to the program, such as speakers, conferences, or other events of interest to students in the Narrative Medicine program.

Columbia University did not respond to a request for comment as of Monday evening.
