I consider myself to be a feminist. I think men and women were created with equal worth and have equal inherent rights. However, I want nothing to do with radical third wave feminism-the difference between first wave and third wave feminism is astounding! It amazes me how a movement could become so corrupted so quickly.
HERE ARE SEVEN THINGS WRONG WITH RADICAL THIRD WAVE FEMINISM:
1. IGNORES SUFFERING WOMEN WORLDWIDE
When was the last time you saw a serious feminist rally against the women’s rights violations of Islam? When you heard them condemning the migrants-turned-rapists from the Middle East in European countries? One of my key problems with radical third wave feminism is that it ignores the women’s rights violations across the world that are not politically advantageous for its own movement.
2. USES VIOLENT AND CRASS METHODS
When did getting things done in a classy, articulate, SMART way go out of style? Now, instead of the bold and intelligent women who gained us the right to vote, the face of the feminist movement has been taken over in a violent seizure by women dressed like vaginas and screaming obscenities. Great. Because THAT will get you places.
3. TRIES TO MAKE WOMEN FIT ONE MOLD
The majority of radical third wave feminists will say they support a woman’s right to be anything she wants to be…until someone tells them they want to be a homeschooling full time mom. How dare a woman want to stay at home with the children she loves dearly? Third wave feminism tries to tell you that you’re only worth anything if you are a power playing, career ladder climbing woman while pretending that they are okay with any dream a woman might have for her life.
4. IGNORES DIVERSITY OF THOUGHT
Once again, radical feminists pretend that their movement is for everyone and that diversity is wonderful…until you tell them that you’re a conservative woman. Suddenly, the facade falls away, and you see that radical feminists actually don’t want anything to do with you unless you think, believe, and act exactly like them. Think anything different, and you’re a monster. The lack of diversity of thought is STUNNING.
5. CREATES A FAKE WAGE GAP
In a somewhat impressive distortion of statistics, feminists argue that women make almost 30 percent less than men, and argue that it’s even more if you’re talking about a minority woman. Yet, these same women who try and use an ineffective blanket statistic ignore the differences between the hours worked by men and women, the career fields they go into, and the fact that men are NINE times more likely to be killed on the job than their female counterparts.
Oh, and they also ignore the fact that decades ago, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 made it illegal for women to be paid less. But who cares about legislation?
6. PUTS RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROBLEMS AND ACTIONS ONTO OTHERS=
It sickens me to watch women go from being liberated and full of independence and self-responsibility to trying to rely on everyone but themselves for their own survival. Third wave feminists like to pretend that without government funding, Planned Parenthood, and safe spaces, they will all die. Reality check: big government doesn’t help you, it only hurts you, Planned Parenthood is one of the WORST health care centers you could go to (great for murdering children though), and if you don’t ever want anybody to offend you, stay inside your house.
Feminists should be the leaders in independence and strength, not whining about how they can’t care for themselves.
7. IDOLIZE TERRIBLE PEOPLE
Finally, radical third wave feminists choose TERRIBLE people to represent them! Hillary Clinton? She defended child molesters and rapists, is still with and defending her cheating and womanizing husband, and takes money from countries where women have NO rights. Lena Dunham bragged about molesting her sister. Margaret Sanger was an outright racist who argued for the extermination of minorities. None of these people should be adored or admired, and the way they and others similar are fawned over speaks VOLUMES about the morality of radical third wave feminism.
Be a feminist, because men and women are absolute equals. Just make sure your ideology is based on facts, hard work and independence, and diversity.
